The Central Rappahannock Regional Library offers a variety of volunteer opportunities suitable for teenagers. You may volunteer for any of the following opportunities or call your branch to inquire about other volunteer positions that may be available. You may apply for any of our volunteer positions in person or by using our online volunteer application. [Current Opportunities] Headquarters Library: Porter Branch: At the Porter Branch, there are three kinds of volunteer opportunities for students in grade 7 and above: VolunTeens are 7th-grade and 8th-grade students who volunteer on a regular schedule. They perform routine tasks and special jobs that are essential to the success of the library. They meet periodically to welcome new members and learn new skills. Teen Council is a leadership group open to students in grades 7-12 and meets at least once a month. One of their responsibilities is to help plan and carry out programs and activities for children and other teens. Sign-up is ongoing. Circulation volunteers (age 14 and up) help with such tasks as emptying the book drop and preparing for the monthly book sale. Circulation volunteers are usually assigned a 2-4 hour weekly shift. |
